In the context of the EQUALS-EU project, we recognize the 
importance of tailoring our lexicon to the linguistic and 
cultural nuances of each participating country. To achieve 
this, our consortium partners have made language-specific 
contributions to the lexicon, ensuring that the terminology 
and definitions align seamlessly with the national languages 
and contextual understandings of the respective regions. 
Below, we present the Greek contributions that enrich our 
lexicon, reflecting the diverse and inclusive approach 
to data collection for our project.

Diversity - Διαφορετικότητα (Diaforetikotita)

Comments in English: The usage of the word is broad and it is not restricted to talk about equality issues. 
Therefore, it is a neutral world that can have a positive or negative connotation depending on the context 
and the way it is said. A synonym is dissimilarity and it has a more literate use used for things/situations 
that are not similar and it has nothing to do with equality

broader meaning of being fair.

Gender - Γένος (Genos)

difference at meaning.

words is not always clear. Equity has a broader meaning of something being fair, but not 
always the same.

mainstreaming is good when opposed to extreme tendancies, but it may be bad if it excludes opinions not 
conforming to the opinion of the majority. Majority can be a synonym of mainstreaming.
